SMALL BATCH COFFEE SHOP
2022
Our business is a coffee shop that is conscious of the source of its products. Our target audience is students, entrepreneurs, and those who simply want to enjoy a cup of coffee and a snack. The space will include a study area for small groups and a bigger space for larger groups. We will focus on sustainability producing high quality coffee and food for our customers. We will have sustainable merchandise as well as high quality food on the menu. This shop will be located within walking distance to SFSU for easy access of students.

Mission statement
Whether it’s the roasters putting love and hard work into our Small Batch coffee or you coming into our shop for a perfect place to study and even better cup of coffee, our priority is people.

Food Menu
Implementing food service in the coffee shop will require us to compile and save all of the recipes. This is a process called recipe standardization. Once we have tested our recipes, and perfected them to our liking, we would need to finalize and write up the recipes in order to keep the food consistent for our customers. A standardized recipe should include the following information;
Specific name of recipe
Total yield- this is how many portions it will make
Portion size- this is the actual size measured for each portion
Ingredient list and quantities- decide if you will use weight or volume measurements
Preparation procedures- step by step instructions from start to finish
Cooking temperatures and times- oven or stove instructions
Special instructions, equipment needed, and storage instructions (Egan, 2022).
We will implement this procedure for all of our recipes in order to ensure consistency, no matter who is working that day. Generally, we will serve breakfast food and baked goods because we will be open in the first part of the day. Everything will be made in house, including the bread. We will attempt to source our ingredients from local vendors such as farms in the Bay Area. If local is not an option, the food will come from natural and organic sources in order to uphold our high standard for sustainability.
